Restoring Feminism: A Call to Return to Its Roots
Have you ever felt in your life like you had a great idea—one that could benefit your family, friends, your workplace, or even society? And did you feel like you desperately wanted to take action and share your thoughts on this idea because you knew the listeners would greatly benefit from it?
Well, that’s how I’ve been feeling for the past 7 years. I was 20 when I was faced with a serious but simple fact: we women living in the 21st century have been duped! Due to some forces that took place early in the 20th century, we were born into a world of confusion and chaos. We have been sold into believing a lie that has made us unhappy, insecure, restless, and overall doubtful. What is this ‘lie,’ you ask? The lie I call it living in a state of ‘self-delusion.’ This falsehood began with a movement known as ‘feminism.’ Arising from a noble yet radical (at the time) idea of freedom for women, feminism has taken a dark turn in our present day. This deception comes with temporary satisfaction; it does not leave us with what I believe most people seek, which is authentic happiness.
This forms the basis and foundation of my blog. I chose the name ‘Restoring Feminism’ because although I believe the movement has veered too far, women still look to it for guidance and inspiration on how to become women who will positively impact our society. The problem is, the current narrative leaves us more confused and empty than before. I think it’s time to restore feminism to be something that can truly help us, inspire us, motivate us, and bring us together. I have witnessed firsthand, with friends and acquaintances, a thirst for genuine femininity. We are desperately seeking to be shielded from this never-ending bombardment of unattainable social media expectations—whether physical, political, or interpersonal.
So, if you’re feeling this way, and you’re looking to express your womanhood in a manner that genuinely brings you freedom and happiness, then embark on this journey with me. Together, we can revitalize feminism to work in favor of women once more!
